The Bridesmaids Speech
Congrats to the happy couple, Bernie and Drew
For your wedding, we've written a little poem for you.
You've walked down the aisle, and the I'do's have been said,
We're sure for the rest of your lives, you'll be happily wed.
Today is Bernie's day, to be the beautiful Bride,
And we are so proud, to be here by her side.
Bernie you're a wonderful friend, with a true heart of gold, Look
forward to sharing more good times, as we all grow old.
I met Bernie in the Queen Street Mall,
We were on our way to a New Years Eve Ball.
From that day, the best of friends we have been,
Travelling together round the world, not many places we haven't
seen.
There was once a little incident, with Bernie in Lucern,
Jumping on a motorbike with Snake Boy was a bit of a concern.
But I'm sure it's the stories of Egypt and Africa, you'd rather
hear,
Best not to mention that night in Germany, we drank 10 steins
of beer.
At the ANZ Bank, I met Bernie
The best bank Johnnies in the city we definitely were we.
Our tellers were balanced on Friday, by five past five,
So we could race down to Rowers, for a drink and a jive.
Drew, I too have lived with Bernie, your in for an interesting
life,
Knowing her cooking and cleaning skills, you're in strife..I mean,
she'll make a great wife.
Ut when it comes to organising, Bernie gives 200%
Bad Taste Cocktail Parties, International Beer Nights and not
to mention this fine event.
Bernie's a travel agent, with the Harvey World Crew,
Looking after the Smyth's, Randall's and Elk's, Denise does she
do any work for you?
On return she's been promoted, to manage the Keperra Store.
With the increase in pay, Drew won't have to work anymore.
There have been many a nights shared, all the Gals on the town,
With our faces painted, wigs on, chasing the Lions players down.
We're always in search of the Gambler, Mr Jones and Ricky,
But sometimes we have to resort, to Crocodile Rock sung by Randoli.
You know you've been going to City Rowers far too long,
When it's been renovated five times and the DJ knows your favourite
songs.
But all that money spent there, has not gone astray,
As that's where the happy couple, met the 29th of May.
From that night at Rowers, this day was destined to be,
They bought a house, Drew proposed, and now they have little Scooby.
Mr and Mrs Jamieson have started their journey as husband and
wife,
I'm sure they can look forward to a wonderful life.
Drew you're a lucky man, and Bern you're lucky too.
And we truly wish the best, for the both of you.
So for all of us here in the room,
Let's stand and toast again, to the Bride and Groom.
